Iris McDuffie

BIO

Iris A. McDuffie is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with 16+ years of experience in Clinical Nutrition. She is the founder of Nutrition I.A.M. LLC, a nutrition consulting business dedicated to providing nutrition counseling for individuals diagnosed with chronic disease states. Iris considers herself a Clinical/Community Nutritionist with expertise in renal nutrition.

As the new Clemson and Rural Health and Nutrition Agent for Florence and Marion counties, Iris is on a mission to teach individuals how to eat a healthy balanced diet.  Her focus is increasing awareness about chronic kidney disease and what you can do to reduce the risk of being diagnosed. Her most recent interest is social determinants of health (SODH) in rural health communities.

Iris is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Renal Practice Group (RPG), National Council of Negro Women, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Iris graduated from Elizabeth City State University and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Master of Science Education from Wake Forest University.  Between work and my passion of educating my community.  I enjoy cooking and preparing "gourmet" dishes (according to my friends and my beloved brother).
