EVP of Human Resources
Tammy Duncan-Swope serves as Vice President of Human Resources for Lamar Advertising. Lamar Advertising, one of the largest outdoor advertising companies headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has operated under the Lamar name since 1902. Lamar Advertising is Louisiana's only NASDAQ 100 company. The company's three business segments are Billboard Advertising, Logo Signs and Transit Advertising, serve customers in Canada and 46 states in the U.S.
In the role of Vice President, Duncan has overall management responsibility for Lamar's domestic and international HR function for a 3,700 employment population. Her duties include leading the organization's strategies in the areas of leadership development, organizational effectiveness, benefits and compensation management, learning and human resources systems and processes. Duncan possesses a broad generalist background with specialty concentrations in employee relations, labor negotiations, organization and management development and corporate communications.
With more than 20 years in Human Resources, Tammy has held various HR management positions in the healthcare and chemical arenas in both union and non-union environments.
A native of Louisiana, Duncan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1985. She is a member of the National Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Greater Baton Rouge chapter of SHRM. She has served on numerous Executive Committees and Advisory Boards of various groups. She is currently a very active vice-chair of a local non-profit focusing on building stronger families in the community (Family Road of Greater Baton Rouge) and founder of Bayou Blessings which is a women's fundraising groupd for Family Road. Duncan has also been instrumental in starting the Lamar Women's Leadership Network which engages and encourages women in their professional development journey. Duncan is married and resides in Baton Rouge.
